The wait is finally over. Helsinki-based Korpi Ensemble offers an outstanding new release in “Trails”. Fronted once again by the charming vocalist Johanna Iivanainen the group again moves easily and seamlessly between pop, jazz and folk. The sound is witty, 100% organic , a bit melancholy and always melodic. The recording sessions of “Trails” started late 2005 and continued in spring/summer 2006 at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki. Also Johanna Iivanainen’s career is growing fast. The critics love her and Johanna has been elected several times “A Jazz Vocalist of The Year” in Finland by jazzmagazine JAZZRYTMIT . Also she has won a Sony Jazz Prize in 2003. Excellent second album by the band |
